Our Mission

Today the mission of the Society continues to be "to collect and preserve valuable manuscripts and artifacts (the Collection) relating to the history of Hancock and its people. The Collection shall be housed in the Society's building in Hancock. The Society shall record items and events of historical significance, and foster a general interest in the history of Hancock and New Hampshire." 

About Us

The Hancock Historical Society is a non-profit organization supported by membership dues and donations. The property, Museum building, and collection are maintained and supervised entirely by volunteer members as a public trust and community service.

The hip-roof house was built for Charles Symonds in 1808 and 1809.
